Its June! - Game Review

Well with it being June I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Summer! Most schools are out already and kids are now looking for summer jobs or just going to hang out around town. I thought I would start posting here again and giving a little bit of information about what I am up to and into.

First I would like to say I don't know if you know about a game called Eve-Online, but I have now been playing that game for a few years and man I will say that I have had tons of fun. This is a MMORPG and its total all out PVP you don’t have any options not to pvp or not. You can stay in Simi safe space called Empire but still you’re not 100% Safe there too. Or you can go and move out into Law-Less space 0.0 sec is what they call it. Out there you can do exactly what Lawless means. There are no laws you can kill someone and not worry about getting hunted down by the cops or as known in game as concord.

Now no you may not get hunted down by Concord but you probably will get hunted down by the persons which you killed, Corporation or Friends. In this game you can choose a few paths to go so you can tailor it to exactly how you want it to be. You can pick Trader, I.E. someone who buys items for cheap and resells them for more, this is very much worth the money but also very dangerous. Remember just because you may not want to blow other people up doesn’t mean they don’t want to blow you up. Then there is Mining, this is pretty much exactly what it says. You get the joy of mining asteroids for their metal. This gets extremely boring and is slow but it is a very good source of money. Also like the Trader you need to be careful due to the fact some people in the game don’t like people who do nothing but mining because a lot of farmers use this to make money so just be careful.

Another profession is fighter, this is a pvp profession that is a lot of fun to most people. You sign up to a corporation (if you want or go solo) and you can fight NPC’s or other people. Mind if you want to fight other people you are only allowed to fight people in -4 to 0.0 space or you will incur the wrath of CONCORD the police or if you are in a corporation with a war doc then you can fight anywhere. War Docs are where you agree to pay a fee so CONCORD will not attack you but you can attack the other corporation as much as you want anywhere in the world of Eve. The game has way to many features to list along with tons of different professions that are outside the so called cookie cutter. The Skill system is a Real time learning system so if you are just starting out you will notice a lot of big ships it doesn’t take long to get to the ships you want with the help of Implants and other Boosts you can get in-game.

The fact also that it’s a real time system means you don’t have levels so to speak. Each skill has 5 Levels within it along with a difficulty rating next to it that range from normally 1 to 8 but some skills are harder and over 8. The skills will give you a time frame on how long it will take to learn them in Hours, Minutes, and Seconds. This is not only game time but real time, the game is based off GMT TZ. For me I live in the PST TZ it is for me anywhere from -7 to -8 hours depending on the time of the year. If you are wondering what it is like then feel free to go to http://www.eve-online.com and check it out. Along with that you also get a 14 Day trial or you can sign up for Steam (http://www.steampowered.com) which will give you 21 days free to try out the game. With saying all that I hope to see you in-game sometime and if you do decide to join feel free to hit me up on Xirtars and Fly safe!

Next time I will be reviewing another Game EverQuest 2. If you have a game you think I should review or may like please let me know and I will or if you have a review you would like to share please email me and I will see about posting it here. Email me at Scire [at] scireportals.net
